Bad Turtle!
The real world:
The other night I went to visit a friend of mine for dinner at his house. But the night before I went there, I had this strange dream.
The dream world:
I was waiting by a small stream with my family. What were we waiting for? The ferry that would take us across the stream, which was kind of ridiculous considering the stream was only about six feet wide and it was probably low enough to just walk across. But there we sat, waiting for a ferry to get us across. We were on our way to a friend's house for dinner, but for some reason, my friend was sitting there waiting with us. The next thing I remember about this dream was my stepson became tired of waiting and decided to walk upstream a ways. We went with him.
We continued walking upstream until we finally found the ferry. Except it wasn't really a ferry. It was some guy driving a truck up and down the stream with a portable bridge attached to the back of the truck for people to drive over.
My stepson found a turtle underneath the portable bridge. He picked up the turtle and was trying to show it to me. He held the turtle up vertically so that the turtle's belly was facing me. Next thing I know, the turtle starts peeing on my face. I start walking to get away and my stepson just keeps turning the turtle so it keeps peeing on me. He was a good five feet away from me when this happened too.
Back to the real world:
That's about all I can remember about this dream. Very strange indeed. Some of the things in this dream that may have triggered some of this imagery is the fact that I was going to a friend's house for dinner which I mentioned earlier. Also, my stepson does own a turtle, however the turtle has never peed on me...not yet.

Hometown Casino?
This next dream I'm going to share is another one that inspired me to begin this blog. It takes place in my hometown of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania.
The dream world:
I was walking though my hometown when I noticed they had built a casino behind the grocery store. I had no intention of going inside, but I had to walk by it to get to where I was going. I saw a slot machine outside. It cost a dollar to play. I just happened to have a dollar on me, so I gave it a try. The reels spun around and I won. The amount that showed up on a digital readout said "595". I thought I had won $5.95 but I had won $595 dollars. So I gave it another try. This time I won $20,000. So I decided to go inside. It was strange, they had all the usual casino games, but one of the things that stood out is they had a skee-ball game.
For some reason the skee-ball game ramp was very long and it wasn't completely straight. In fact it was so long that it seemed impossible to roll a ball all they way because I couldn't even see where the skee-ball ramp ended. So I decided to follow it. I followed it to where it made a sharp right turn and it was no longer a skee-ball ramp and I was no longer at the casino. I was outside of a saw mill.....
Back to the real world:
.....and then I woke up. I can't think of anything that would have caused me to have this strange dream. But it took me a few moments to realize that I wasn't $20,595 richer. Dang it!
My Friend Josh
The real world:
I have a friend named Josh. Josh is in jail right now. He did something horrible, but he is in no way a horrible person. I've had many dreams in which he is free and we're hanging out at a restaurant, having a great time as if he'd never even been in jail. I hate these dreams because when I wake up and realize it was only a dream, it make me angry.
I've been wanting to do a blog about dreams for awhile now, but it wasn't last night that I had a dream which motivated me to start this blog.
The dream world:
I was at a restaurant when my aunt showed up. She told me she had a surprise for me. She opened a door in the restaurant and there stood my friend, Josh. For some reason he was much taller than he really is. I asked him if he was done with prison. He told me he wasn't and that they let him out for a weekend as a reward for good behavior. He was handcuffed to a prison guard. At one point Josh and the prison guard went into the restroom. A minute later I went into the restroom with a mask on and acted like I was pointing a gun into the prison guard's back, even though I was just using my finger. I demanded that Josh and the prison guard give me their wallets with the intention of giving Josh his wallet back later. I'm not sure why, but for some reason I thought this would help Josh get free. But then I panicked and ran out of the restroom and out of the restaurant. I got to my vehicle and for some reason I was driving a box truck that I used to drive when I worked for Paris Uniforms. I drove around the other side of the restaurant and parked it and turned the headlights off. I saw the prison guard drive by in his car, he didn't see me. I waited for a little while and then I drove off. I ended up driving down this long dirt road which ended up being a driveway for someone's house. I backed the box truck up, but I backed up into a pond and the box truck flipped completely over backwards. I was able to escape easily from the truck. I got out of the pond and I was completely dry.....
Back to the real world:
.....and that's when I woke up. What a strange dream. That's the first time I've had a dream where Josh was still a part of the prison system. It's funny that we still met at a restaurant though. Josh used to live near my aunt in Maryland so it made sense that my aunt was there to surprise me with a visit from Josh. As far as the box truck goes, I was in an area last night that used to be on my route when I worked for Paris Uniforms, so that might explain why the box truck I used to drive for them was in my dream. Most everything else about the dream though was just...weird.
Introduction
I thought I would start a new blog about dreams that I have had. The main reason I'm doing this is so I can remember some of the dreams I've had. It's a place where I can immediately record what I've dreamt about before I forget about it. So it's mostly for me as a reminder, but you, whoever you are, are more than welcome to read what I have shared and I encourage you to share as well. Feel free to leave comments.
I've had some crazy dreams over the years. The earliest dream I can remember as a child was one where I'm looking up into the sky and it's completely pink, not a pretty pink color but kind of a faded, unsettling pink color and there are three faces in the sky looking down at me and I remember running into a building so they couldn't see me. This dream has stuck with me since I was very young, probably before I was even 5 years old. I remember it being a very frightening dream.
Another dream I had when I was a child was one where I was looking for my hamster because it had gotten out of its cage. My cat came into my room and he was gigantic. I found out that my cat had eaten my hamster and then my cat ate me.
I find that many things reoccur in some of my dreams. It's strange that sometimes in my dreams I can fly, but other times there are physical limitations in my dreams. I had a dream once where I was trying to run away from a tornado, but all I could do was run in place. On some occasions I've dreamt about getting into a fight with another person, but when I try to punch them in the face, my fist moves in slow motion and when I make contact with the person's face it's like I'm just placing my fist on their cheek and there is no impact.
Falling in dreams is another big one that many people have. It sounds funny, but I kind of enjoy these dreams, I find them very exhilarating. I always get that funny tickling feeling in my stomach when I have these dreams. In one such dream I was testing out a suit that allows you to float. I was inside a building while testing it, but somehow I floated out of a hole in the ceiling and ended up very high in the sky. Next thing I know, I'm not wearing a floating suit but instead I'm holding onto a bunch of balloons. I think I woke up before I fell on that one.
The rumor that you die if you hit the ground if you fall in a dream is definitely not true, I almost always hit the ground before I wake up. In one dream I was in a large warehouse and I was up in the rafters. I lost my balance, fell and hit my back on something on the way down before I hit the ground. The strange thing is, I woke up with a really bad back ache.
So those are just a few dreams from years past. I'll share more from my past as I remember them, but for the most part, I'll be posting more recent dreams that I've had.
